Control Master File Table Zone Reservation

On NTFS-enabled XP systems, you can control the amount of space allocated to the Master File Table(MFT). The MFT contains reference entries to all the files on the system. This can get fragmented over time and affect system performance. Use this hack to allocate sufficient space for the MFT.

Navigate to:

HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

Modify NtfsMftZoneReservation to a value between 1 and 4. For most users, a value of 3 is good enough. To be completely effective, this setting should be specified at the time the volume is formatted.

Enable/Disable Thumbnail Caching

One of Explorer's great features is to display a thumbnail of images and

the first frame of the video when seen in Thumbnail view. This is either done when you access the folder or it fetches from the thumbnail cache. Fetching thumbnails from the cache is lot faster, but will consume a lot of hard disk space, especially if your system is full of images and video.Thankfully you can disable this. or in case you have sufficient space but want to speedup your system then you can enable it in case disabled.

Navigate to:

Set the DWORD Value DisableThumbnailCache to 1 if you are low on hard disk space. Otherwise chang/leave it at 0 to enable thumbnail caching

Unload Unused DLLs

XP has a very bad habit, Even after an application is closed the associated DLL files still exist in memory. This can waste some precious resources and memory. This also cause stability problems. Make the DLLs unload themselves from memory after the program is done running.

Navigate to:

HLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

Explorer\AlwaysUnloadDLL

If the DWORD AlwaysUnloadDLL is not present, you will need to create it. Set the Value of the ?(Default)? setting to 1. Application-associated DLLs will get unloaded when the application

is closed.

Speedup Softwares By Changing Priority

Instances of the same software will share a single process thread(same resources).

If you have stability problems or slow application loads then this registry hack will solve your problem.

This registry hack will make each application start in its own process will improve stability and speed up load times. Go to REGEDIT(Start>>>RUN>>Type REGEDIT)

Navigate to:

HLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PriorityControl

Change the value of the DWORD Win32PrioritySeperation to 27, 28, 37, 38 (in decimal). The default is 2. This is not over yet one more thing has to be done.

Go to My Computer. Select Folder Options under the Tools menu and choose the View tab.

Now select(check) the box ?Launch folder windows in a separate process.?

This will make each application window run in a separate process. Remember now each instance will consume the same amount of memory so use this only if you have 512 MB or more of RAM. You may need to restart your comp.

Disable Frequent software

Windows normally shows the frequently used softwares in the start menu. this could be annoying for those who dont need it/use it. Use this hack if you don?t want the list of frequently used programs in the Start Menu to show up.This will only work with the XP Start Menu, not the Classic Start Menu.

When ever you add a program to run at Start up it appears in the startup folder. You may be wondering if is there any way that you can add a software to the start up and still go undetected. then the answer is "Yes"

This Registry Hack will allows a program to be launched at startup without any trace of the executable in the Startup folder on the Start Menu . Go To regedit (Start>>>Run >>>type regedit )

Navigate to :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Run

Finally Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as given below:

Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value]

Edit Master Startup List

Many of the programs that start up at boot time do not figure in the Startup folder. If you want to stop more than one application from loading at bootup, you will normally need to go

and turn off the preference in each application one by one.

Tedious and time consuming. This Registry Hack can help you do this in one go. Just open Regedit(START>>RUN>>Type REGEDIT)

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows

And to:

A .reg file is used to create a entry in to the registry. If you don't know anything on the registry visit the encyclopedia or registry section.

This is how a registry file looks like (the .reg's syntax)

RegistryEditorVersion is the version of the registry editor. if you are using windows xp or windows 2000 it should be "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00". For Windows 98 and NT4.0 systems REGEDIT4 is the version entry in the header of the .reg file .

The blank line is a must. The Blank line informs the Registry the start of a new Registry path. Before every new path you must add a blank line.

RegistryPath is the path to the location of the particular key or sub-key in the Registry . The enclosed in square brackets is a must and each sub-key level has to be separated by a backslash just like a normal file path or a url.

For example:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\viruswriting]

If the subkey does not exist, it will be created. Multiple entries will each start with their own paths separated by blank lines.

The ?DataItemName1?=?DataType1:DataValue1? specfies the values of the key (or sub-key).DataItemName is the specified name of the data.Each key may have more than one name. This is enclosed in quotation marks.

Next is the the data type (DWORD or hexadecimal) , followed by the actual data. Incase of the

data beging of the String type, then no data type is specified. The DataType and DataValue are separated by colons. Quote("") is not necessary for the type:value if they are not string.

Hack IE/ Media Player

What if you want you change the Title of IE or windows media player(WMP). I was particularly annoyed when i download the Yahoo version of IE. The title read WINDOWS INTERNET EXPLORER - YAHOO or something like this. This reduced the site title space. This Registry Hack will show how to do it.Go to Regedit (start>>>run >>> TYPE regedit ) .

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet explorer\main

Now Modify/Create the value data "windows title" with anything you want. Click ok. Press F5. Now go to internet explorer. See the title of it.

Similarly for WMP you need to modify 'TitleBar".

If you want systemwide change replace HKEY_CURRENT_USER with HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE

Speed Up Your Comp

This Registry Hack will make all applications load faster . This will speed up your system considerably Just open Regedit(START>>RUN>>Type REGEDIT)

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management\ PrefetchParameters

The default value for the EnablePrefetcher setting is 3. Change this value to 5 to make applications load faster. You can experiment with higher values?up to 9?and see if you get a further improvement.

Normally, multiple instances of the same application (such as multiple windows in IE) will share a single process thread. If you have stability problems or slow application loads, launching each application in its own process will improve stability and speed up load times.

Navigate to:

Optimise XP?s process priority control by setting the DWORD Value for in32PrioritySeperation to? well, the default is 2, and 27, 28, 37, 38, and more have all been quoted as good values (in decimal).

But after doing this,

Go to My Computer

select Tools menu.

Choose the View tab in Folder Options .

Check "Launch folder windows in a separate process."

Special folders such as My Documents, Desktop, and so on can be changed to any other location from that set by the default installation. This hack will change the locations.There are 2 ways tto do this

First, just move the required folders to the new locations. This will change the location of the folder.

Automatic Window Refresh

Normally, there is a some delay before the changes reflects in the GUI. To see it

right away, you would need to press [F5]. The following Registry Hack will enable the system to do faster updates.

For faster updates, change the DWORD value called UpdateMode to 0. The default is 1.

The Partial Address Feature of IE is a great . The Internet Explorer partial address feature scans common domains for a match to a keyword entered in the address bar. The feature is limited by default to searching only .com, .net, .org and .edu domains.

This tip allows you to add new domains and modify their priorities.

Navigate to:

HLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\UrlTemplate

The values listed under that key control which domains are auto-searched for matches to the keyword entered in the address bar. To add a new domain, simply create a new String Value and name 5 . Set the data of the new value to equal the domain you want to search

Like .info or .in is becoming popular. To add .info add the value www.%s.info.

If you want the IE to first search for .info change their priorities, simply rename the values with sequential numbers(like in this case 1 to www.%s.info). This includes the existing domains (.com, .net, .org and .edu).

Open in New Window

Edit HTML With What You Want

Get Rid Of The ?Links? Folder

Links folder is a useful feature in Ie if your using Links bar. I use it to store my reguraly visited liks so that i can open it in 1 click. But it could be useless if you dont dont use links bar.

IE creates a folder called Links in the Favorites menu. Delete it and it comes back. This is a big problem . Plus once it's recreated windows adds it own msn links. So lets get rid of it.

This regisry hack will disable it. Go to regedit(Start>>Run>>Type regedit)

Now set the LinksFolderName String Value to a blank string. Then open IE and delete the Links folder from the Favorites menu.That's it. No more Links folder!

I was under the impression that that the software contained virus. Now i know it it isnt a virus but it could be still be dangerous. Once you enter it, it seems it will be stored forever!. There are several viruses that Disable your Registry Editor. To enable it just follow the following steps based on your version of windows. We will be using dos programing for this.

ON 98 ME, NT, and 2000:

Open Notepad.

Copy and paste the following:

Save this file as RESTORE.REG. Save it in C: drive.

Load Kernel Into RAM

In Windows 98, programs could be loaded and kept in RAM for as long as you wanted. You could even load a anything into the RAM even video clip and have it play from there!. this feature doesnto exists in XP or by defaut it's disabled. this is done mostly due to security reasons.

But when it comes to the Windows XP kernel there is nothing to worry about. By default, XP only loads the required parts of the kernel into RAM at boot time. as and when needed the other parts are called. Having the entire kernel available in memory speeds up processing.

Navigate to:

HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control \SessionManager \Memory Management

Set the value of the DisablePagingExecutive key to 1. This will make the entire kernel be loaded in memory. To diable it you can set it back to ) . You need to reboot for the changes to take effect.

This is a hack inspired from the UNIX shell command completion feature. You can type in the first few characters of a file name and then press a key to have the system complete it. This works when you are performing command line operations like those in MS DOS

form ^letter, where ^ represents the [Ctrl] key. Thus ^Z = [Ctrl] + [Z]

At the Casual Connect conference last week, that initiative began to take clearer shape as Google announced its plans to port AdSense into games. Yup, that?s right: no expensive consoles a la Microsoft Xbox, no restrictive portals a la Yahoo Games ? just AdSense for Games.

?I?m going to be very clear right now,? [Google?s Bernie] Stolar said. ?Google is involved in in-game advertising. I?m going to say it one more time, in case there?s any misconceptions here: in-game advertising. This is an area that Google believes will have tremendous growth over the next number of years. ??
?No Gbox, Bernie?? asked Google?s Greg Schaffer, playing along.
Nope, no plans for a console, Stolar said. And no ?Google Live,? no video-game portal, and no video-game search, he said. Microsoft Zune 2.0

With the Zune reaching it's goal of 1 million units sold this week, Microsoft plans to take its digital audio player to the next step by introducing Zune 2.0 and other models.

Microsoft reports that the Zune has officially passed the 1 million unit landmark this week with 1.2 million Zunes officially sold. Not satisfied with leaving the player where its at, Microsoft has confirmed the existence and impending launch of the long rumored Zune 2.0 or 2nd generation Zune.

A Microsoft PR representative had the following to say regarding the release date of Zune 2.0:

"We have seen the rumors floating around, but we haven?t announced specific dates or details for the next generation of the Zune devices or service. That said, Zune follows the cycle of the consumer electronics cycle so you can expect an update later this year prior to the holiday season."

The PR rep continued into vague details about future Zune products. "There are three predictable paths along which we?ll expand Zune."

Microsoft will expand the Zune family with new styles, sizes, and price points. Future Zune products will feature podcasting support and expanded video support. The Zune will also move into other geographic markets when Microsoft feels it has an appealing product to offer those demographics.

Perhaps most importantly of all, the representative mentioned that Microsoft will build on the wireless support. Maybe we'll finally have the freedom of synching our digital audio players via wi-fi.

The rep didn't mention anything specific about Microsoft's rumored answer to the iPod Shuffle. But interesting rumors from sources considered "reliable" point to a very innovative product.

The product is essentially a music playing SD card that will plug into any SD slot. The second part of the player is what makes the SD card usable as a digital audio player. That part is a type of sleeve that'll allow the user to control the music and plug in headphones for putting that music playing goodness to work. The player can't be turned on or off as it is always in the same state.

Sounds like good things are coming to the anti-Apple DAP crowd (which includes me).

Microsoft sales reach �25bn for first time

SOFTWARE titan Microsoft has posted another rise in annual profit as sales burst through the $50 billion dollar mark for the first time.

The company said demand for new operating software Vista Windows and its Office 2007 product helped drive profit over the year up to �6.88bn, from �6.82bn the year before as sales hit �24.93bn ($51.1bn), up from �24bn the year before, just ahead of Wall Street estimates.

The profit performance would have been even better, Microsoft said, had it not had to fork out �500 million to cover the cost of "general hardware failure" faults with its Xbox 360 computer games console.

Microsoft, which was co-founded by billionaire Bill Gates, said its core businesses were "healthy" and it would continue to invest in growth opportunities.

Over the final quarter to June 30, earnings climbed to �1.48bn, from �1.38bn in the same period the year before. Excluding charges related to Xbox, Microsoft said it would have banked a profit of �1.84bn during the final three months of its last trading year.

"Surpassing $50bn in annual sales is a testament to the innovation and value that our product groups delivered into the marketplace," said chief operating officer Kevin Turner.

And Mr Turner said that over the current year, sales were expected to rise to between �27.33 and �27.81bn.

Microsoft is counting on several big product launches, including updated server software and the much-anticipated "Halo 3" video game, to spark double-digit growth next year.

Sid Parakh, a technology analyst at McAdams Wright Ragen, said Vista and Office 2007 were "doing well" with lots of corporate buyers taking to the products.

Analysts were particularly pleased with an increase in Microsoft's "unearned revenue", or money businesses have pledged to spend in coming years on licenses for software.

"It suggests that the wave of business products released in 2007 and the forthcoming products in fiscal 2008...are really going to help the company convince enterprises to sign multiyear agreements," said Matt Rosoff, of independent researchers Directions on Microsoft.

Strong contract sales bode well for Microsoft's plans to roll out server, database and communications software that tie into Vista and Office 2007 in coming months.

"We're having very good success re-signing contracts that are coming up for expiration," said Charly Tracy, Microsoft's senior finance manager, adding that corporations are buying Vista and Office in anticipation of the new server programs.

Mr Tracy shrugged off the Xbox woes. "We've taken the charge and done the right thing for the customer. Now it's all about the great game lineup we've got going into next holiday season," he said.

Microsoft said it estimated the personal computer market to have grown between 11 per cent and 13 per cent in the past three months. The company forecast PC market growth of nine percent to 11 per cent this year with Windows sales expected to move in line.

"Many of the same factors that helped us be successful in 2007, such as a healthy PC hardware market, customer acceptance of our new versions of Office and Windows...will help propel us in 2008," Microsoft chief financial officer Chris Liddell said.

If for any reason you don't like the little "+" next to the stories, and you never use it, you can remove it from your iGoogle completely with this script. It also removes the white border around modules.

Here listed is a step-by-step guide for installation of N-gage games onto a Nokia Symbian series 60 mobiles.

Few essential points to be noted.

Note No. 1: It is a good idea to let set your MMS and SMS messages to be kept on your MMC, not on your phone memory. Any MMS or SMS?s currently on your phone?s memory, it is suggested you move them over to the MMC.

Note No. 2: You must have some sort of file managing software to do this. Download and install such an application before beginning this guide! I recommend FExplorer or SeleQ.

STEP No. 1 :- THE Installer

First Get the BLZ installer and your desired game.

Send the BLZ-Installer to your phone, it should be a *.SIS file, if it is not, then it is probably a *.ZIP or *.RAR, unpack the *.SIS file from the archive, then send it. DO NOT send the *.ZIP or *.RAR files to your phone.

Install the application.

STEP No. 2 :- The Game File

Next, you need to get the game ready. Game files are in the *.BLZ format. Like the BLZ-Installer, if the game file is not a *.BLZ file, unpack the archives until you find the *.BLZ file.

You may need to do this a few times, because usually games are packed more than once.

Once you have the *.BLZ game file unpacked, send this to your phone.

STEP No. 3 :- Installation :-

Open your installed file manager and find the *.BLZ game file in one of the mail folders (Example ? e:\system\mail\XXXX) and copy the file to the root directory of the MMC (Example ? e:\). Now Close the file manager.

Run the BLZ-Installer. Now you should see the game listed there. Select Option and then Install. Wait for the process to finish. The game should then be installed.

A new icon will be visible if the steps of installation are followed as mentioned.

2000: Google MentalPlex

In the year 2000 Google announced a new search technology called "MentalPlex" . It supposedly read the user's mind to determine what the user wanted to search for, thus eliminating the step of actually typing in the search query. All that the user had to do was remove his Hat and Glasses and stare at the above image. It said that it worked for all languages.

There was even a elaborate FAQ page. It even gave some troubleshooting tips

Problem: MentalPlex keeps taking me to sites featuring rubber toys, nipples and diapering.

Google claims to give Jobs to 35 engineers at their Googlunaplex. It is GooglePlex in Moon i.e you work at Google office located at moon. It claimed to contain 27,000 low cost web servers, 2 massage therapists and a sushi chef formerly employed by the pop group Hanson.

It was called G-CHEESE (Google Copernicus Hosting Environment and Experiment in Search Engineering) Google's initial base, a spherical structure containing living quarters and a small data center, will take two and a half years to construct. first G.C.H.E.E.S.E ball has been christened the Googlunaplex.

Google also said that they would release version 10.0 of an operating system that has been optimized for the demands of extra-terrestrial computation. Known as Luna/X, the new command architecture i was said to be impervious to radiation, low gravity, absolute zero temperatures and airless environments.

Those interested had to contact Google at lunarjobs@google.com. They had to be at least 18 years of age by April 1, 2007 and have proof of earth residency.

2005: Google Gulp

Google Gulp, a fictitious drink, was announced by Google in 2005. They claimed that this was develiped by one of their employee VP of operations Urs Hoelzle . He used to collect floral plants from tropical rain forest in his 20% time. They said that the Flowers contained nothing special ? bag of future steroids, muscle relaxants, long-shot cancer drugs. But one day the flowers contained a special chemical.That led to creation of this juice/drink.

According to the company, this beverage would optimize one's use of the Google search engine by increasing the drinker's intelligence. It was claimed this boost was achieved through real-time analysis of the user's DNA and carefully tailored adjustments to neurotransmitters in the brain (a patented technology termed Auto-Drink).

The drink was said to come in "4 great flavors": Glutamate Grape (glutamic acid), Sugar-Free Radical (free radicals), Beta Carroty (beta carotene), and Sero-Tonic Water (serotonin).

This hoax was likely intended as a parody of Google's invite-only email service called Gmail. Although ostensibly free, the company claimed the beverage could only be obtained by returning the cap of a Google Gulp bottle to a local grocery store: a causal loop. In the Google Gulp FAQ, Google replies to the observation "I mean, isn't this whole invite-only thing kind of bogus?" by saying "Dude, it's like you've never even heard of viral marketing."

On April Fool's Day 2006, Google Romance was announced on the main Google search page with the introduction, "Dating is a search problem. Solve it with Google Romance." It pretends to offer a "Soulmate Search" to send users on a "Contextual Date". A parody of online dating, it amusingly had a link for "those who generally favor the 'throw enough stuff at the wall' approach to online dating" to Post multiple profiles with a bulk upload file, you sleaze in addition to Post your Google Romance profile. Clicking on either of these gave an error page, which explained that it was an April Fool's joke and included links to previous April Fool's Jokes for nostalgia.

2007: Gmail Paper & Google TiSP

At about 10:00 PM Pacific time (where Google has its headquarters) the day before April 1, 2007, Google changed the login page for Gmail to announce a new service called Gmail Paper. The service offered to allow users of Google's free webmail service to add e-mails to a "Paper Archive," which Google would print (on "96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum") and mail via traditional post. The service would be free, supported by bold, red advertisements printed on the back of the printed messages. Image attachments would also be printed on high-quality glossy paper and be postmarked with their message, though MP3 and WAV files would not be printed.

Google TiSP

Google TiSP (short for Toilet Internet Service Provider) was a fictitious free broadband service supposedly released by Google. This service would make use of a standard toilet and sewage lines to provide free Internet connectivity at a speed of 8 Mbit/s (2 Mbit/s Upload) (or up to 32 Mbit/s with a paid plan). A user drops a weighted end of a long, Google-supplied fiber-optic cable in their toilet and flushes it. Around 60 minutes later, the end would be recovered and connected to the Internet by a "Plumbing Hardware Dispatcher (PHD)." The user then connects their end to a Google-supplied wireless router and run the Google-supplied installation media on a Windows XP or Vista computer ("Mac and Linux support coming soon").

Alternatively, a user could request a professional installation, where Google would deploy nanobots through the plumbing to complete the process. The free service would be supported by "discreet DNA sequencing" of "personal bodily output" to display online ads that relate to culinary preferences and personal health. Google also references the Diet Coke and Mentos reaction in their FAQ, "If you're still experiencing problems, drop eight mints into the bowl and add a two-liter bottle of diet soda."

Non-hoaxes

Google has also anounced some of their actual products on Fools day. This marketing strategy is used to make people think that the product is a hoax and then to surprise them .

On April Fool's Day 2004 (or rather, very shortly before midnight on March 31), Google announced the launch of Gmail, making some believe it was a hoax as web-based e-mail with one gigabyte of storage was unheard of at the time but later turned out to be real.

On July 20, 2005, Google debuted a version of Google Maps that included a small segment of the surface of the moon based entirely on NASA images. Google created the page on the 36th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon. The Google Moon FAQ also humorously mentions a connection to the Google Copernicus hoax, which Google claimed to be developing. Supposedly, by 2069, Google Local will support all lunar businesses and addresses.

Gmail does not allow us to upload files that have the following extension .exe, .zip, .dll, .tar, among others..This is a great feature as it eliminates the chances of us receiving virus.But some time if get a software/ important files through Gmail we will not receive it.So what do you do?? Of course ask the guy to send it to some other mail.But no more we have a few solution .

Just go to pages.google.com . Log in with your Gmail/Google account.Just choose a name for your webpage. Now chuck everything and just upload your file(it has to be less than 10 mb). Now get the link of the file which is something like www.yourid.googlepages.com/filename.extention. paste this link in your mail and sens it. When the fellow clicks on the link he will get the file.

If you dont wish to use google pages you can even try out sites like Divshare.com(10-20 mb) , rapidshare.com or megaupload.com .If you use rapidsahare or megaupload you can upload large files but chances are that it may not exist on their server for a long time.
Instead of zipping it try raring it. I mean use WinRar instead of WinZip to compress it.
There is even a simpler way. All that you need to do change the extension. if the file is .exe change it to .exei or any fake extensions now all that the receiver has to do it download it ans change back the extension to .exe

Send mails without revealing your id

Most people prefer not to have their email address revealed, and that's a good thing.This is because of the spammers spamming your account.Most spammers get your ids from fwd mails. When mails are forwarded no one bothers to remove the long senders list . By hiding your self you can be sure that you will not get spammed this way.

Send an Email to Undisclosed Recipients from Gmail

While composing mail type the following in the To: field. "Undisclosed recipients <_yourid@gamil.com >"

Replace "_yourid" with your Gmail or any mail id and don't type any quotation marks

Click Add Bcc. and enter the email addresses of the recipients separated by comma.
Type the message and its subject.
Click Send.

Now the receiver will not see your id

Block spamers

Gmail may be the best mail arround but it lacks some common features like blocking a spammer from sending you mails. But thankfully here is away to do this.You can send mails from a id to the Trash automatically.

To block someone

Select "create a new filter" next to search box
Type the desired email address under From:
Click Next .
Check Delete it box under Choose action.
Save it.

If you wish to blocks a entire domain type just "@example.com". (without quotation marks)

To block more than one address, separate them with "" (without quotation marks).

For eaxample you can block both spammer1@example.com and spam2@example.com by typing spammer1@example.com| spam2@example.com.

View mails by contact

Gmail has a cool feature that lets you watch your mail contact wise. What i mean is you see all the mails received from a particular contact.Say you want to know how many mails you received from say Googlehacks@Gmail.com then you can see it. No need to search or visit settings.
To see mails from a contact.

Select a contact from left contact box
If he is not present in your left contact box go to your "Contacts"/address book
Select the contact
Now all the mails corresponding to that person is visible below his details

You can only see contacts from a person whose id is stored in your addressbook.This is a easy way to find messages from a contact.

Send mails from other id's in Gmail

Gmail has a great feature you can have a diffrent sending address.Let me explain it to you.
Say you have 2 id's

"Orkuttricks@ gmail.com" and "Googlehacks @gmail.com"

Now you need to send a mail to someone with the " From id as GoogleHacks " while you are logged into "Orkuttricks " account.Gmail allows you to do this with some settings.You can do this from any mail hosts like Yahoo/Msn/Hotmail....

To display another email addresses in the 'From:' field just

Click Settings
Select the Accounts tab.
Click "Add another email address" in the Send mail as section.
Enter your email address and name that you'd like to send messages from.
Click "Next Step"
Click Send Verification to complete the process.

Gmail will send a message to your other email address . You'll need to click the link in that message, or enter the confirmation code in the Accounts section of your Gmail account, to complete the process.

Although you can send mails from a diffrent id you can't receive reply / mails from that account it in your gmail account. Although you could use Gmail fetcher to read mails from that id.

Mail Fetcher

You can read all your mail from any POP mail host in your Gmail. Gmail has a feature called "mail fetcher". You can fetch mail from your other email accounts. You'll be able to read email from up to five additional accounts in your gmail which is more than enough for 99.9999999999% of mail users including myself.

The email accounts that supports POP access could be fetched.

To set up Mail Fetcher:

Click Settings
Click Accounts.
Go to"Get mail from other accounts" section.
Click Add another mail account.
Enter the full email address of the account you'd like to access, then click Next Step.
Google will populate the Username and POP Server fields when possible, based on your email address. Enter your Password.
Click on "Add Account"

Now you have set up the mail fetcher. Once you set up just visit the other mail id & accept the confimation sent by gmail.

There are some additional details that you might fill up like

Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server. If you'll only be accessing your email through your Gmail account, leave this unchecked. If you'd like to be able to access your mail directly from that account, or if you're accessing it through any other accounts or devices, click to select this option.
Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.
Label incoming messages.
Archive incoming messages. (not visible in inbox)

You can disable importing at any time from the Accounts tab of your Settings page. Just click delete next to the appropriate email account.

Create a Friend list in Gmail

Although Gmail doesn't currently support Groups in your Contacts, you can simulate a Group list by doing the following:

1. Create a new Contact

2. In the "Name" field, enter the name of your Group (eg "My Friends")

3. In the "E-mail" field, enter your list of email addresses in the following format:

"friend1@gmail.com>,<_friend2@ blah.com>,<_friend3@foo.com> "

There should be no spaces in the string. Be sure NOT to include a leading "<" or trainling ">" as Gmail will add them while sending mail.

Web over India's map

India is in it's 60th year OF INDEPENDENCE. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is the worlds most diverse country. There have been several wars that we have fought with our neighbours like PAKISTAN & CHINA over the years.

I was checking my visitors at Google Analytical in "Map Overlay". Map overlay is a feature that lets me know how many visitors I had per country on a map. If you click on a particular country on the map it takes you to that country and it show the visitor of that country ,city wise (see the pic below).

I had seen the map of India at Google analytical several times but didn't pay any notice to it. Today when i was looking at it i suddenly found out that India -Pak border was not properly displayed. Even India-china border was not proper. It shows POK as part of Pakistan this could be allowed as it's administered by PAK. Even the Aksai Chin plateau area is not properly displayed.These are disputed areas that either countries claim it to be theirs. This map shows these regions as PAK's and China's respectively. SO does it means that Google takes Pak's and China's side. No Google is far better than.

Before we head into reading you need to know a bit of facts

The disputed territory POK is claimed by both India and Pakistan, but controlled by Pakistan. It is administratively divided into three parts:
Azad Kashmir
The Northern Areas, consisting of the regions of Gilgit and Baltistan. Gilgit was an agency leased by the Maharaja to British Government. Baltistan was western district of Ladakh province which was annexed by Pakistan in 1948. Both regions of Gilgit and Baltistan are administered as a de facto "Federal Territory" of Pakistan by a Pakistani minister. As the area is part of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region, the local population is denied the right to vote or send representatives to the Pakistani parliament or senate;
A part of Hunza-Gilgit called Raskam and the Shaksgam Valley of Baltistan region, ceded by Pakistan to the People's Republic of China in 1963 pending settlement of the dispute over Kashmir. This ceded area is also known as the Trans-Karakoram Tract.
These territories border the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir to the east and Pakistan to the west.

I decided to do some research as to what did other sites show. I decided to visit only those sites that specialise in this field i.e either encyclopedia or map sites.

I first headed over to Maps.google.com Owned by Google.This showed the correct map. The disputed regions were shown in dotted lines and that's fair enough. Another area which China claimed i.e Arunacjal pradesh(just next to butan) is shown in dotted lines although it's now Indian state. To tell you the truth google powered maps( i dont mean alalytical like sites) were the only site that site that showed correct map . So thumbs Up for Google Maps

Next i went to Yahoo Maps. They had launched several new features.This made the site load too slow. It took me almost 2-3 min to zoom into that level.But finally i got it. Here the story was quiet different. Aksai Chin plateau area was shown separately. POK was shown as Pakistani. They have shown the Aksai Chin plateau as a separate country i.e it's represent by the same line as that of a country. So yahoo maps sucks

Next stop was Microsoft's virtual earth aka Msn map.This was bit better than Yahoo. This showed POK as pak region but the plaetue is shown as a disputed region. It's shown with dotted line unlike yahoo.They even showed Arunachal pradesh also in dotted lines although it's an Indian state.

I also tryied out AOL'S mapquest. This site turned out to be much like Microsoft . There was only one change the border b/w POK and India was shown in dotted line.

At Wikipedia's map(wikimapia) everything perfectly fine as it was powered by Google. This was much much of a physical map but showed everything correctly.

My Final destination was Britannica this as expected showed the right map. See the map

Just reminder that Google Analytical only gives us details regarding our site and not about the worlds. It has to show these region as part of one country or other or else it would lead in to problem. If there are visitors from these region what would Google do. Several such disputed regions exist in the world.It has to cant show them separately as it's of no use or importance to a webmaster. It only that we Indians have been unlucky and these regions have been excluded from India.

But sites like Yahoo, Msn and others should show the right map.

EA introduces new play modes for Wii sports games

EA unveiled on Thursday plans to offer two unique control modes for future Wii sports games made by the publisher. "Family Play" will enable simplified control schemes for casual gamers while "Advanced Play" offers more control for experienced gamers.

"Family Play on the Wii creates an incredibly accessible and user-friendly experience that the whole family will enjoy," says EA Executive Producer Dave McCarthy in a statement. "While many fans love to control every piece of the action, novice players can have just as much fun jumping in to throw a touchdown pass, nail a three pointer or take a shot on goal."

The new play initiative omits the use of the Wii nunchuck focusing on basic moves only while Advanced Play includes nunchuck functionality for a full range of moves like in previous EA Sports games.

Mobile Battery Saving Tips

If you're expecting a call and your battery icon starts blinking, the first thing you should do is find a charger. In case you dont find one you feel like throwing the mobile & buying a new one.

Reserve battery

Nokia instrument comes with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart withthis reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery.Thisreserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

Turn Down Screen Brightness

The screen is one of the most power-consuming parts of the mobile phone. The lower the brightness, the lesser power it needs. Keep it as low as you can, so long as you can still see it! Also, some phones like the E61 and the BlackBerry Pearl come with auto-adjust features that increase the brightness in brightly lit areas and dim it in low-light areas. If you're setting the brightness low, make sure that auto-adjust is turned off.

Don't Use Animated Wallpapers or Screensavers

The animations in wallpapers and screensavers can drain a bit of battery as they also consume a wee bit of CPU. Turn them off.

Turn Off Keypad Lights

If you've been using the phone for a while, you may be able to use the keys without seeing them. If this is the case, the keypad backlight can be turned off. However, not a lot of phones support this, but it's worth considering if your phone does.

Decrease Screen Standby Time Out

The time till your screen dims out and/or gets turned off is configurable in most phones. 10 seconds is good, 5 seconds is better. Set it as low as you can go without it becoming inconvenient.

Close Background Applications

If you're using a Smartphone, close applications that you don't need. Applications that stay active in the background use up a bit of CPU, which uses up battery. Make sure you 'exit' the applications from the menu, not by pressing the 'End' key, as that merely puts the application in the background. In Series 60 Smartphones (mostly Nokias), hold down the 'Menu' key to get a list of all applications running in the background to close them. In Windows Mobile 5 phones, open the 'Memory' application and check the 'Running programs' tab to close them.

Turn Off Vibration

Probably the second most power-consuming feature of any mobile phone is the built-in vibration alert. See if you can do without it.

Turn Down Ringer Volume, Keypad Tones and Speaker During Calls

If you're mostly indoors, like in the office or at home, a low ringer volume can go a bit towards saving your battery. Most phones also have DTMF-like keypad tones, which are not necessary if the keypad has decent tactile feedback. I keep them turned off most of the time ? you can try it too. Volume of the earpiece when you're on a call can also be lowered, and that helps too.

Disable Voice Clarity / EFR / Voice Privacy

Almost all phones now do Enhanced Full Rate (EFR) for voice communication that consumes a little more power. In most cases, the enhanced quality of EFR doesn't make a difference thanks to the high noise levels in our city. Keep it off, you probably won't miss it. Some phones (mostly Samsungs) have a 'voice privacy' feature which can also be turned off to save battery.

Turn off 3G / GPRS / EDGE

Most 3G/UMTS/WCDMA phones keep searching for 3G coverage by default. In India, they'll keep searching till 2008, draining your battery, so go to the network selection screen and choose GSM-only. If your phone has a secondary camera near the screen, it's a 3G phone. Check your phone?s specs on the website if you aren't sure. Sometimes, even regular GPRS or EDGE connections stay active in the back, so make sure you specifically disconnect when you're done browsing the web.

Use Bluetooth and WiFi Only While Transferring

If you only use Bluetooth occasionally to transfer files to and from other devices, there's probably no point keeping it on all the time. Most phones only come with an on/off setting for Bluetooth, unlike the 'Turn on for 10 minutes' setting available for Infrared in some phones (mostly Sony Ericssons). People tend to forget about Bluetooth being left on after transferring the file ? avoid doing this. Same goes for WiFi, if you're phone has that.

Here's another tip ? find a USB cable if your phone supports recharging via USB. The Motorola RAZR/KRZR/SLVRs and most Windows Mobile Smartphones have a standard miniUSB slot that can use the same cable as most digital cameras. You're more likely to find one of these lying around somewhere than a charger for your phone, unless it's a Nokia, of course.

Dont use some common but unnecessary features

Of course, you can't use the camera and media features (most Samsung phones won't even let you, if the battery is low) but you can also be a bit choosy while answering incoming calls ? not all of them need to be answered. This is even more true in case of unknown numbers!

Take help of a friend

If you are with a friend then you can take his mobile & temporary interchange the sim i.e if he doesn't mind .

Finally, if you've tried everything else above then the only remedy will be don't use the phone too much.

New software to track lost mobiles

There is good news for all of us,regarding the tracing of the lost cell phones.Isn't it amazing and interesting to know about? If this detective takes off, it will be more popular than Sherlock Holmes: a software to trace lost mobiles. Inspired to create a mobile-tracking solution after his 16-year-old son lost his cellphone, P Sekhar, chairman of Micro Technologies, began work on a programme to track phones. The code ? downloadable at Rs 200-300 a year on most handsets from Micro?s website ? allows the owner to track the exact location of his phone and the number of the new SIM card that has been inserted. As of now, the only action a subscriber can take is to frantically call the service provider and block his card.

He says: ??A stolen phone is generally sold in the grey market. When a new SIM card is inserted, the solution embedded in the phone notifies the original owner of the new SIM card number and the location of the phone. Nine out of ten times, when the original caller calls the owner of the stolen phone, the third party returns the gadget.?? Called the Lost Mobile Tracking Solution (LMTS), the e-sniffer which can track lost mobiles, is awaiting a patent. It was created with an investment of Rs 50 lakh, of which half has already been recovered in the four months of its launch in the Indian market. It would be safe to say that thousands of phones are stolen and lost in India every day, left behind in cabs, washrooms, restaurants and shops. In 2005, 20,000 cases of stolen mobiles (worth Rs 300 crore) were reported with the police. About eight crore mobile handsets were retailed in India in the same year.

Sekhar, who plans to market this solution worldwide , is in dialogue with five of the largest mobile manufacturers as well as the police, who say that lost mobile complaints are on the rise. He estimates that the market for such a solution could go up to Rs 30-40 crore within the next three years. The LMTS solution is currently restricted to GSM phones in which the SIM card is detachable. The solution is retailed in India through Micro Technologies?s large dealer and distribution networks and will soon be pushed through the mobile manufacturer route as well.

How to use the service
The basic requisite is possessing a smart phone with GPRS activated on it. Most telcos offer this service for a fixed fee every month You register online for LTMS at the Micro Technologies website. A user name and password is sent to you and you can download the software Once the software is activated, a link is sent to your phone. Clicking on the link leads you to a site where another piece of software is installed on your phone. Into this software, you type in the licence key.

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code.They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that who everstole it can't use/sell it either.If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

SMS stands for short message service. Simply put, it is a method of communication that sends text between cell phones, or from a PC or handheld to a cell phone. The "short" part refers to the maximum size of the text messages: 160 characters (letters, numbers or symbols in the Latin alphabet). For other alphabets, such as Chinese, the maximum SMS size is 70 characters. But how do SMS messages actually get to your phone?

If you have read How Cell Phones Work, you can actually see what is happening. Even if you are not talking on your cell phone, your phone is constantly sending and receiving information. It is talking to its cell phone tower over a pathway called a control channel. The reason for this chatter is so that the cell phone system knows which cell your phone is in, and so that your phone can change cells as you move around. Every so often, your phone and the tower will exchange a packet of data that lets both of them know that everything is OK.

Your phone also uses the control channel for call setup. When someone tries to call you, the tower sends your phone a message over the control channel that tells your phone to play its ring tone. The tower also gives your phone a pair of voice channel frequencies to use for the call. The control channel also provides the pathway for SMS messages. When a friend sends you an SMS message, the message flows through the SMSC, then to the tower, and the tower sends the message to your phone as a little packet of data on the control channel. In the same way, when you send a message, your phone sends it to the tower on the control channel and it goes from the tower to the SMSC and from there to its destination. History of sms

SMS was created during the late 1980s to work with a digital technology called GSM (global system for mobile communications), which is the basis for most modern cell phones. The Norwegian engineers who invented it wanted a very simple messaging system that worked when users' mobile phones were turned off or out of signal range. Most sources agree that the first SMS message was sent in the UK in 1992.As SMS was born in Europe, it's not surprising that it took a little longer to make its way to the United States . Even today, texting enjoys much greater popularity in Europe , though its stateside use is on the rise. A July 2005 study found that 37 percent of U.S. mobile phone owners had sent or received at least one text message in the previous month

WHY SMS IS ONLY 160 CHARACTERS ?

SMS was designed to deliver short bursts of data such as numerical pages. To avoid overloading the system with more than the standard forward-and-response operation, the inventors of SMS agreed on a 160-character maximum message size.But the 160-character limit is not absolute. Length limitations may vary depending on the network, phone model and wireless carrier. Some phones don't allow you to keep typing once the 160-character limit is reached. You must send your message before continuing. However, some services will automatically break any message you send into chunks of 160 characters or less. So, you can type and send a long message, but it will be delivered as several messages.

MMS stands for MULTIMEDIA MESAGING SERVICE. It is the evolution of Short Message Service(SMS) (SMS is a text-only messaging technology for mobile networks). With MMS, a mobile device is no longer confined to text-only messages. It can send and receive multimedia messages such as graphics, video and audio clips, and so on. It has been designed to work with mobile packet data services such as GPRS and 1x. MMS-enabled mobile phones enable subscribers to compose and send messages with one or more multimedia parts. Multimedia parts may include text,image,audio and video. These content types should conform to the MMS Standards.

For example your phone can send an MPEG-4 video in AVI format, but the other party who is receiving the MMS may not be able to interpret it. To avoid this, all mobiles should follow the standards defined by OMA.

MMS was originally developed within the Third-Generation Partnership Program (3GPP), a standards organization focused on standards for the GPRS/GSM networks. Since then, MMS has been deployed world-wide and across both GSM/GPRS and CDMA networks. MMS has also been standardized within the Third-Generation Partnership Program 2 (3GPP2), a standards organization focused on specifications for the CDMA networks. . Mobile phones with built-in or attached cameras, or with built-in MP3 players are very likely to also have an MMS messaging client -- a software program that interacts with the mobile subscriber to compose, address, send, receive, and view MMS messages.

EMS, also referred to as Enhanced Messaging Service. EMS is simply SMS with additional payload capabilities is a cross-industry collaboration between Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens and Alcatel, among others. EMS is a halfway house between SMS and MMS, providing some of the features of MMS. EMS is a technology that is designed to work with existing networks, but may ultimately be made obsolete by MMS.

The basic concept of cellular phones began in 1947 when researchers looked at crude mobile (car) phones and realized that by using small cells (range of service area) with frequency reuse could increase the traffic capacity of mobile phones substantially, however, the technology to do it was nonexistent.

Anything to do with broadcasting and sending a radio or television message out over the airwaves comes under a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulation that a cellular phone is actually a type of two-way radio. In 1947, AT&T proposed that the FCC allocate a large number of radio spectrum frequencies so that wide-spread mobile phone service could become feasible and AT&T would have a incentive to research the new technology. We can partially blame the FCC for the gap between the concept of cellular phone service and it's availability to the public. Because of the FCC decision to limit the cellular phone frequencies in 1947, only twenty three cellular phone conversations could occur simultaneously in the same service area - not a market incentive for research.

The FCC reconsidered it's position in 1968, and stated "if the technology to build a better mobile phone service works, we will increase the cellular phone frequencies allocation, freeing the airwaves for more mobile phones." AT&T - Bell Labs proposed a cellular phone system to the FCC of many small, low-powered broadcast towers, each covering a 'cell' a few miles in radius, collectively covering a larger area. Each tower would use only a few of the total frequencies allocated to the cellular phone system, and as cars moved across the area their cellular phone calls would be passed from tower to tower. Radiophones have a long and varied history that stretches back to the 1950s, with hand-held cellular radio devices being available since 1983. Due to their low establishment costs and rapid deployment, mobile phone networks have since spread rapidly throughout the world, outstripping the growth of fixed telephony.

Martin Cooper is widely considered to be the inventor of the cell phone. Using a modern, if somewhat heavy portable handset, Cooper made the first call on a cell phone in 1973. At the time he made his call, Cooper was working as Motorola's General Manager of its Communications Division. Motorola had developed the idea of using cellular communications on a portable platform (i.e., a handset)in a non-vehicle setting.

Computer prodigies from all over the world have gathered in Seoul to compete in the Microsoft Imagine Cup from Monday through Friday.

A total of 111 teams and 372 finalists from 56 countries have come to South Korea to participate in the fifth year of the worldwide software competition for students, which is being held in the country for the first time. The 2007 finals officially opened with a welcome dinner Sunday evening at the W Seoul-Walkerhill in eastern Seoul.

This year's competition covers technology solutions, IT skills and digital art in nine sub-categories _ software design, embedded development, web development, project Hoshimi programming battle, IT challenge, algorithms, photography, short films and interface design.
^The winners will get $25,000 for the software design field _ the main competition _ and $8,000 for each of other eight categories.

``The Imagine Cup represents the next generation of technology and business leaders," said Joe Wilson, director of academic initiatives at Microsoft. ``The students' creativity and passion speaks volumes about the promise of technology to really make a difference in people's everyday lives, in the way we think, and in how we work and communicate. For Microsoft, this is another opportunity for us to highlight the necessity of supporting student talent in science and technology for future progress in the industry," he said.

Shuttleworth: Microsoft Fracturing the Open-Source Community

Microsoft has succeeded in fracturing the Linux and open-source community with the patent indemnity agreements it has entered into with several prominent vendors, Ubuntu leader and Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth told eWEEK.

The strategy behind that was to drive a wedge into the open-source community and unsettle the marketplace, Shuttleworth said. He also took issue with the Redmond, Wash., software maker for not disclosing the 235 of its patents it claims are being violated by Linux and other open-source software.

"That's extortion and we should call it what it is," he said. "To say, as [Microsoft CEO Steve] Ballmer did, that there is undisclosed balance sheet liability, that's just extortion and we should refuse to get drawn into that game. On the other side, if Microsoft is concerned about its intellectual property, there is no one in the free software community that wants to violate anyone's IP. Disclose the patents and we'll fix the code. Alternatively, move on."

Annual report: Microsoft acquisitions top $1.3 billion

Here's another detail from Microsoft's newly released Form 10K annual report: The company's spending on acquisitions doubled in its latest fiscal year, to $1.34 billion. And that's not counting Microsoft's $6 billion aQuantive deal, which isn't included in the total for the year, which ended June 30. That acquisition is still pending, with an aQuantive shareholder vote set for this week.

Despite spending more, Microsoft made fewer acquisitions -- 13 in 2007, according to the filing, compared with 21 the previous year. That means its average acquisition size in fiscal 2007 increased to $103 million, from $33 million the year before. The 2007 average was skewed significantly by Microsoft's acquisition of TellMe Networks, which reportedly cost the company at least $800 million. The grand total for the year gives further credence to those reports.

Microsoft had been making mostly smaller deals during the prior few years. But for the record, the $1.3 billion spent on acquisitions in fiscal 2007 isn't unprecedented for the company. In fiscal 2003, for example, Microsoft spent more than $2 billion on three companies alone: Rare, Navision and Placeware.

Microsoft And NASA Team Up For 3-D Space Shuttle Tour

Microsoft has announced a new collaboration with NASA designed to give users a 3D photographic tour of the space shuttle Endeavour before its launch later this week. The new exhibit uses Microsoft?s Photosynth technology to create a three-dimensional environment with ?views of shuttle Endeavour on the launch pad, interior and surrounding area of the Vehicle Assembly Building, and the return of previous flight Shuttle Atlantis atop a 747.?

You?ll need to download the Photosynth viewer to see the images (sorry Mac users, for now Photosynth is only available for Windows XP and Vista ? running either IE6 or IE7). If you don?t meet the minimum requirements or if you?d just like to see an overview, there?s a nice video preview available on the Microsoft Labs site.

Blaise Aguera y Arcas, an architect at Microsoft Live Labs, also gave a talk at the TED festival a while back that shows off some of the remarkable capabilities of Photosynth and SeaDragon, which you can see here.

NASA says it hopes this joint project will lead to more collaborative initiatives with Microsoft. And Microsoft is no doubt hoping the same, especially since most recent NASA collaborations have been with rival Google, which gets some of its Google Earth data from NASA.

Also worth noting is that, near the end of the promotional video linked above, Blaise Aguera y Arcas says that Photosynth with soon offer features which allow users to stitch their own photos together.

Given that Photosynth relies on image data from a normal SLR camera, it might soon be possible for even you and I to stitch together some impressive 3-D tours, provided you take enough images.

Nokia Jumps From Apple's Bed To Microsoft's Bed

Just last week, Nokia released a new media transfer beta program for Mac computers. Today, it announced a new PlayReady DRM licensing agreement with Microsoft. Looks like Nokia is playing both sides of the fence ahead of its music-themed launch in London later this month.

The news set for August 29th is rumored to be a new online music store from Nokia in the vein of Apple's iTunes Music Store. The big bash, to be hosted at London's Ministry of Sound, will show off the new service and probably a new music-centric handset from Nokia. Leading up to that announcement, Nokia seems to be getting all its ducks in a row.

The DRM deal that Nokia struck with Microsoft appears to be a key step in its movement to the rumored music store launch. Starting in 2008, a range of S60 and Series 40 phones from Nokia will support Microsoft's PlayReady content management software. PlayReady should make it easier for Nokia users to transfer content, such as games, ringtones and music, between their PCs and phones. It also gives the content owners more choices with respect to how their content is bought, sold and used by customers.

"People are increasingly using their mobile devices for enjoying digital content, such as music, games, videos and photos," said Ilkka Raiskinen, senior vice president of Multimedia Experiences at Nokia in a prepared statement. "By adding support for Microsoft PlayReady technology, we are enabling service providers to offer a wide range of content and create truly compelling experiences across mobile devices, personal computers and online services."

Just to play it safe, though, Nokia has decided to be friendlier to the Mac Heads out in the world. Nokia Multimedia Transfer Beta 1.1 (which did not get a big splashy press release) allows Mac users to more seamlessly transfer content from their Apple computers to their N series multimedia computers as well as E series enterprise class devices. It works with both iTunes and iPhoto to share music, playlists, photos, and games. Nokia quietly made the beta available last week.
